MALEFICENT BREATHES FIRE!!!
Debut of the Festival of Fantasy Parade 03/09/2014 (3/3)
I wish I could’ve been there today to see it in person! Full parade is here!
CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW PERFECT ANNA IS?????
Festival of fantasy 3/9
Maleficent was the most awesome part..
I just watched the Festival of Fantasy parade. Omg it’s fantastic! Can’t wait to see it live in May
As much as I loved the Jack Frost prompts and wanted to write something for each, it just wasn’t feasible this week. So here’s my single entry for Jack Frost Week!
It’s an homage to Jack and all the Fun he’s brought the fandom.
This is definitely a sampler. I sewed all this freehand with no pattern or drawing, but jngarrettart provided some snowflake thought starters which gave me the confidence to experiment! It’s a bit chaotic, but I figured it fit the theme.
I’ll add a border, mount it, and then send it to you, Jennifer! Your encouragement with this project and all those writing resources you sent and a million other things… you helped me continue to create, and I am so very grateful.
- The thread!! This is the first time I’ve worked with this kind of metallic thread and it is a pain. It bunches, knots, twists, snags, separates and is constantly trying to unravel in every direction.
- Sewing six-sided figures on 4x4 square aida cloth means you constantly have to go off the grid of holes, eyeball where you think the lines should go geometrically, and poke through the stiff cloth to make your own holes. Sore fingers.
- Curves. Square-oriented cloth is not accommodating to curves, either. The cursive writing was particularly challenging, I had to redo many parts of it more than once.
The funnest thing to make was, of course, the little Jack Frost!! HOW CUTE!!
Anywho, other ROTG cross stitch pieces will be the prizes for my spring giveaway which will start March 20th. I also plan to do a Summer of Snow giveaway theme in July, so this project was great practice for those pieces. :)
And a huge thank you to eastofthemoon for putting together so many fun and creative events- you really help keep the fandom and its creators energized! Loved seeing the entries for Jack Frost Week.
